Aims & Scope
Management of Sustainable Development (MSD) is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing rigorous research on the management, governance and policy dimensions of sustainable development. The journal welcomes original scientific papers and review articles that advance theoretical understanding, empirical evidence and policy-relevant insight across environmental, economic, social and institutional domains of sustainability. Manuscripts with a purely descriptive, single-case, or locally bound perspective without broader analytical or theoretical contribution are not considered. MSD welcomes submissions in the following core thematic areas: Sustainable finance, ESG and responsible investment Sustainability management, corporate sustainability and CSR Sustainable development policy, governance and institutions Circular economy, resource efficiency and environmental management Social sustainability, labor, community and inclusion Sustainable innovation, digitalization and AI for sustainability Sustainable development metrics, reporting and assessment. Exclusion and Selectivity Criteria To ensure coherence with the journal’s aims and to maintain a high scientific standard, MSD applies explicit selectivity criteria. The journal does not consider for review: manuscripts that are purely descriptive or lack a clear theoretical, conceptual, or analytical contribution; studies based on single local or national case analyses that do not provide comparative perspectives, generalizable insights, or implications beyond the specific context examined; submissions with limited international relevance or that do not clearly situate their contribution within the broader international sustainability literature; papers with insufficient methodological rigor, weak data quality, or inadequate analytical frameworks; manuscripts falling outside the management, governance, strategic, or policy-oriented dimensions of sustainable development. Target Readership MSD targets professional managers and academics, offering insights into the latest scholarly research in sustainable development management and related fields. Editorial Standards All manuscripts approved by the editors undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. To be considered for publication, a manuscript must fulfill the following criteria: Strict scope alignment with the journal’s defined thematic focus; Explicit theoretical, methodological, or policy contribution to the sustainable development literature; High scientific rigor, including transparent data, models and analytical procedures; International relevance and transferability of results across contexts; Originality, including substantive incremental advances; High-quality academic presentation, with precise language and high-quality referencing to internationally recognized sources.
