Aims & Scope
Journal of Institutional Studies brings together institutionalists on a wide range of interests. They include original (traditional) and new institutionalism, history of development of institutions and institutionalism, interdisciplinary researches (including economic, sociological, legal and political science). The journal is published with the support of International Association for Institutional Studies (IAIS). The mission of the journal is to develop institutional research projects and scientific and academic cooperation. The aims of the journal are: to highlight the results of institutional researches; to promote researches in the field of institutional economics; to support of interest in institutional problems of social-economic development; to promote free discussion on current issues of institutional theory, methodology and history. Journal of Institutional Studies publishes articles containing the results of theoretical and empirical institutional researches. Interdisciplinary ventures are encouraged. The most important criteria when deciding on publication of contribution are compliance with the focus of the journal, the presence of new results, their validity and clarity of presentation. The main thematic sectors of researches published in the journal are: methodology of studying institutions and institutional theories; institutional economic history; history of institutionalism; institutional, behavioral and evolutionary economics; transaction cost theory; contract theory; institutional theory of the firm; institutional analysis of market organization; institutional theory of state, public choice theory and new political economy; institutional changes and institutional design; applied institutional analysis in various areas of social-economic activity.
