Aims & Scope
The Korean Journal of Pain (Korean J Pain, KJP) is the official journal of the Korean Pain Society, founded in 1985 and first published in 1988. KJP is an international, peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary, open-access journal serving both basic pain researchers and clinicians. Since 2009, it has been published quarterly in English on the first business day of January, April, July, and October. In 2016, it also became the official journal of the International Spinal Pain Society. While the journal’s regional focus is primarily Korea, it welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide. KJP is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), PubMed/PubMed Central, Scopus, Embase, EBSCO, Google Scholar, WPRIM (Western Pacific Regional Index Medicus), Chemical Abstracts, Korea Citation Index (KCI), KoreaMed, Synapse, and KoMCI Web . The journal is supported by a grant from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, funded by the Korean Government (Ministry of Education). The mission of KJP is to improve the care of patients with pain by providing a platform for basic scientists, clinical researchers, clinicians, and other health professionals. The journal aims to disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge on the mechanisms, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of pain. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: • Basic and translational pain research • Interventional procedures and neuromodulation • Regional anesthesia and perioperative or postoperative pain management • Acute and chronic pain • Cancer pain and palliative care • Pain epidemiology • Multi-disciplinary approaches to pain management • Research methodology in pain medicine • Education and training in pain medicine • Health policy and insurance reimbursement for pain management KJP publishes review articles, original articles (experimental, clinical, and meta-analyses), case reports, and letters to the editor. Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system ( https://www.epain.org/ ). There is no article processing charge. The Korean Pain Society retains the copyright for all published materials in KJP. Print copies are distributed free of charge to members of the Korean Pain Society and to major libraries in Korea and abroad. Full-text articles are freely available at https://www.epain.org/ .
