Etkili Hemşirelik Dergisi, hemşirelik bakımının tüm alanlarındaki araştırmaları kapsayan bir dergidir. Yayınlanmak üzere gönderilen makalelerin hemşirelik araştırmaları, hemşirelik eğitimi, hemşirelik uygulamaları, hemşirelik bakımı, sağlığın korunması ve geliştirilmesi, hemşirelik yönetimi ve hemşireliğin tüm uzmanlık alanları ile ilgili olması beklenmektedir. Dergide projelerden üretilmiş makalelere ve COVİD-19 ile ilgili çalışmaların yayımlanmasına öncelik verilmektedir. Dergide özgün araştırma raporları, derlemeler, sistematik derlemeler, meta analizler ve olgu sunumları yayınlanmaktadır.
