Aims & Scope
About the Journal Focus and Scope Archai: The Origins of Western Thought is published by Archai: The Origins of Western Thought UNESCO Chair, an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research group which gathers researchers in philosophy, history, language, law, art, social sciences and archeology from all over the world. Archai aims to publish original articles, translations, reviews and notes on ancient thought and its legacy in modern and contemporary philosophy and culture. Archai has published article in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, Catalan, Italian and German. Archai has the goal of exploring a different outlook on the history and origins of western thought, a search of new interpretative paths which allow for an understanding of its origins as a process deeply rooted in ancient greco-roman culture, as opposed to the greater lectiones of rationalist philosophical historiography, which thinks of ancient philosophy as something apart, or contrary, to the complex and diverse realm of sophia and ancient culture in general. Peer Review Process Revision and approval of contributions will be done in pairs. The articles' evaluation process is documented in the Archai Journal archives. Submitted texts are sent to the Scientific Commission and to ad hoc evaluators by the Editorial Commission. Texts are evaluated with a blind-review process, according to the following criteria: first, they must fit in with the editorial aims of the Journal; second, texts should follow the proposed editorial guidelines; and, finally, the quality of the manuscript will be evaluated, in relation to the originality and relevance of the themes which are presented in the text as well as the critical and/or informative impact that the submission might have on the advance of studies on the origins of western thought. Competing Interests The reviewer must decline when there are competing interests. Competing interests may be personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial. Co
