The Journal of Slavic Studies features research articles both in German and in English on the historical and contemporary state of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures; on their comparison; and their manifold relations with the Non-Slavic world. Literary and cultural studies focus on the history, poetics and semiotics of literature as well as other types of media. Within the framework of linguistics, the Journal publishes synchronic, diachronic and cultural-studies oriented contributions. Finally, conference reports and reviews inform about current trends in international Slavic research.
