Aims & Scope

The Journal of Law, Society, and Authority (JLSA) is dedicated to advancing the understanding and knowledge of legal and political sciences through the publication of high-quality, original research. Our journal serves as a platform for scholars, practitioners, and students to explore and engage with a wide array of topics within the domain of legal and political studies. Legal Theory and Jurisprudence JLSA welcomes contributions that delve into the foundational questions about the nature of law, legal reasoning, and the role of law in society. We are particularly interested in articles that challenge conventional perspectives and propose new approaches to understanding legal systems. Constitutional and Administrative Law Our journal publishes research that analyzes the principles governing the structure and operation of government institutions. This includes studies on constitutional frameworks, administrative processes, and the relationship between different branches of government. Human Rights and International Law We invite submissions that investigate issues related to human rights, global justice, and international legal practices. Articles in this area should aim to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the protection of human rights and the enforcement of international law. Criminal Law and Criminology JLSA features research that examines the causes, effects, and responses to criminal behavior within societal contexts. We are interested in studies that provide insights into criminal justice policies, criminological theories, and the effectiveness of legal interventions. Sociology of Law Understanding the interaction between law, culture, and society is central to our journal’s mission. We seek articles that explore how legal practices influence social behavior and how social changes impact the development of law. Comparative and Foreign Law JLSA encourages submissions that provide insights into the differences and similarities between legal systems across the world. Comparative studies that highlight the unique features of foreign legal systems and their impact on global legal practices are particularly welcome. International Relations Our journal explores the dynamics of global politics, the role of international organizations, diplomacy, and the impact of international law on state behavior. We are interested in articles that address contemporary issues in international relations and contribute to the understanding of global governance. Political Science JLSA publishes research that analyzes political systems, political behavior, governance structures, policy-making processes, and the theoretical underpinnings of political practices. We aim to provide a forum for discussions on the complexities of political systems and their influence on societal development.
