Aims & Scope
Africa’s Public Service Delivery & Performance Review (APSDPR) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research examining public service delivery, state performance, and development outcomes in Africa. The journal offers a scholarly platform for theoretical, empirical, and policy-relevant research that examines how public institutions, policies, and governance systems interact with economic, social, political, and developmental processes to influence service delivery and performance across Africa. APSDPR welcomes contributions from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to public administration, development studies, economics, public policy, political science, sociology, planning, governance studies, public finance, and related fields, provided that submissions maintain a clear connection to public service delivery, public-sector performance, or development governance. The journal is particularly interested in research that: Explores the role of institutions, governance, and accountability in shaping public-sector outcomes Examines service delivery and performance at local, national, regional, and transnational levels Investigates state–society relations, co-production, partnerships, and the role of non-state actors in public service delivery Analyses developmental challenges and policy responses in areas such as economic development, social protection, infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, food security, and environmental sustainability Engages with comparative, interdisciplinary, and contextually grounded perspectives, with a strong emphasis on African realities The editors encourage submissions that contribute to policy dialogue, institutional reform, and evidence-based decision-making, while advancing scholarly debates on public service delivery and performance in Africa.
