Archaeologia historica is a peer-reviewed scientific journal focused on publishing original studies from the field of medieval and early modern archaeology, and also includes contributions from other historical and natural science disciplines dealing with similar topics. The journal focuses on the period of the Middle Ages and the early modern period, including the 17th century. Geographically, it emphasizes the region of Central Europe, but also publishes studies set in a broader European context or within the framework of the so-called global Middle Ages, which includes transregional and interdisciplinary approaches to medieval and early modern history.
