Aims & Scope

The journal "Acta Gymnica" (ISSN 2336-4912(Print);ISSN 2336-4920(On-line)), published formerly as "Acta Universitatis Palackianae Olomucensis. Gymnica" (ISSN 1212-1185 (Print); ISSN 1213-8312 (On-line)), focuses on presenting results of research studies and theoretical studies from the field of kinanthropology. The scope of the journal covers topics related to biomechanics, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, somatometry, sports psychology, sports training, physical education, public health, etc. The journal also welcomes submissions that present results of interdisciplinary research. After receiving the submission, the managing editors check the submission and decide whether it is in compliance with the requirements stated in author guidelines and whether it fits within the scope of the journal. Submissions are then assigned to two peer-reviewers. To ensure the integrity of the blind peer-review for submissions to this journal, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. The reviewers are required to decide if they do the review within one week. Once they have confirmed their willingness to do the review they have to complete it within 3 weeks. The following criteria are always considered for each submission in the peer-review process: The journal adheres to the principles of theCommittee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Articles are published continuously online, as soon as possible after being accepted. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. No fees are charged for the manuscript submission, processing, and publication.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
