Aims & Scope

“Health Problems of Civilization” is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal of John Paul II University in Biała Podlaska. The journal is the continuation of “Human and Health” (ISSN 2082-7288), issued in the years 2010-2013. The aim of the journal is to popularize knowledge of people’s health problems in the light of the dynamic development of civilization, industrialization, urbanization and environmental changes that greatly affect modern life, often in a negative way. According to the World Health Organization, health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. With the development of civilization, which includes the technological development of science, motorization and many other industries, there is a constant exposure of people to the side effects associated with this process. As a consequence, there has been a prevalence of chronic diseases in the population, referred to as civilization diseases. For this reason, the interplay between the issues of well-being, health, civilizational development and the ever-changing nature of these issues, as highlighted by a number of international organizations such as the WHO, FAO, EFSA, CDC and ECDC, is of interest to the journal as well as the content published in it. The articles cover topics such as biomedical aspects of health, modern diseases, physical activity or health-related behaviors. “Health Problems of Civilization” provides an opportunity to publish articles on current issues, including prophylaxis of diseases and health education as well as adverse health outcomes. The journal content is divided into three sections: Part I: Diseases and Problems Distinguished by the WHO and FAO, Part II: Physical Activity of Social and Professional Groups, Part III: Other. The articles in this journal are published open access (OA) Primary version - electronic Editor-in-Chief: Marcin Weiner, Professor John Paul II University in Biała Podlaska, Poland Deputy Editor-in-Chief: Małgorzata Tokarska-Rodak
