Aims & Scope

Future Cities and Environment is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing engineering knowledge that addresses the environmental challenges of cities and their long-term sustainability. The journal provides a platform for high-quality original research in architecture and architectural engineering, civil and structural engineering, energy and power technology, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and renewable energy, sustainability and the environment. We welcome contributions that present innovative technologies, methods, and strategies to improve the environmental performance of buildings, infrastructure, and energy systems. Areas of focus include: - Engineering design, analysis, and performance evaluation of sustainable buildings and infrastructure - Advanced energy systems, including renewable energy integration, storage, and smart technologies - Experimental and computational studies in environmental and mechanical engineering - Civil and structural engineering solutions for resilient, low-carbon development - Architectural and engineering innovations that support sustainable design and construction We prioritise contributions that present rigorous experimental investigations, analytical and computational modelling, engineering design innovations, and applied research with demonstrable technical outcomes. Critical reviews and case studies are considered where they provide substantial engineering insight or performance evaluation.
