Aims & Scope
The GUG is an internationally recognized scientific institution for the promotion of corporate history research. It combines academic expertise with practical advice. The GUG has decades of experience in building corporate archives and advises companies on the path to a modern, sustainable archive. The GUG offers various tools, formats, and forums to deepen the understanding of business and companies. The aim is to make historical contexts understandable and accessible to different target groups. The GUG conducts research and prepares feasibility studies to assess the state of sources to ensure that the scientifically necessary foundations for research projects exist. A specialization of the GUG is the processing of the history of companies during the "Third Reich". The aim is a scientifically founded classification of corporate responsibility in historical context. The GUG organizes lectures, scientific symposia, working groups, and other formats. It offers platforms for exchange, networking, and discussion of current issues in corporate history. The GUG has published the results of its research projects in numerous studies. They make an important contribution to the scientific debate and make corporate history accessible to a broader public.
