Aims & Scope

The Journal of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (JBE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal providing a leading platform for methodological, applied, and interdisciplinary research across biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science, and related quantitative disciplines in health and biomedical sciences. JBE bridges the gap between statistical and epidemiological innovation and their practical application in clinical research, public health, and biomedical science. The journal particularly encourages research that is rigorous, reproducible, transparent, and impactful — with real potential to inform evidence-based decisions in medicine and global health. JBE welcomes high-quality manuscripts addressing, but not limited to, the following topics: Original Research Articles:Full-length reports of novel empirical or methodological studies. Methodological Papers:Development, evaluation, or comparison of statistical or epidemiological methods. Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses:Comprehensive evidence synthesis following PRISMA or relevant guidelines.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
