Aims & Scope

The Scientometrics Research Journal (Scientific Bi-Quarterly of Shahed University) is an open-access research journal that publishes papers in the related fields of scientometrics. As Shahed University is the scientometrics core and the first university that created the syllabus of the scientometrics master course in Iran, Tehran and founded the course in 2011, it has also published the journal as the scientometrics main journal in Iran since 2015. Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran (MSRT) has approved the journal and furthermore, it has been indexed in the ISC (Islamic World Science Citation Center) as one of the Q1 rank indexed journals. Furthermore, the Scientometrics Research Journal is covered by the Scopus citation index, and from the Spring-Summer 2021 issue onwards, articles published in this journal are indexed in that citation database. According to the Scimago database report, the Scientometrics Research Journal has achieved a Q3 ranking based on its Scopus-indexed data from 2021 to 2025. In addition, according to the Journals Commission Ranking of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) ), the journal was ranked A in 2019 , 2020 , 2021 , and 2022 , and achieved International ranking in 2023 , 2024. The journal undertakes rigorous peer-review and refereeing of all manuscripts and publishes high-quality articles in the following fields: Science, technology and innovation assessment and evaluation, Scientometrics, patentometrics, webometrics, cybermetrics, altmetrics, bibliometrics, informetrics, science mapping and visualization, relations between science and other related factors (such as economic, political, technologic and etc.), research evaluation, assessing and evaluating the planning and policy-making of science, technology and innovation, evaluation of scientific productivity, academic impact and social impact.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
