Aims & Scope
Inmaterial is a scientific journal about design, art and society. It is published in open access semiannually (June and December) and has a peer-review system for the evaluation of its articles (double blind peer review). The journal is aimed at researchers, professionals and educators who deal with design and art from their different theoretical-practical aspects. Likewise, its objective is to go beyond the traditional boundaries of these disciplinary fields to make its reflections accessible to the widest possible audience. Inmaterial understands artists and designers as both material and intellectual operators, aware of the wide range of cultural, social, economic and political implications of their actions and capable, therefore, of asking pertinent and relevant questions for society. At a time of evident reformulation of the very notions of design and art, as well as their specific premises and objectives, the journal also contemplates and understands innovations - of an epistemological, methodological, terminological and all kinds of nature - that may affect these areas. Inmaterial wants to provide a space for reflection and debate, rigorous but also agile and dynamic, on topics related to design and art and their capacity for social transformation.
