Aims & Scope

The main objective of Urban and Regional Development Planning is to provide an intellectual platform for national and international researchers to discuss their most recent findings related to urban and regional development. By doing so, the journal hopes to improve the status of the field in Iran and in the world and to find solutions to theoretical and practical problems the profession is faced with. To serve this purpose, researchers are encouraged to submit their unpublished, original, full-length papers for potential publication in the journal. The journal is set to publish original articles on a wide range of issues including; Development of theoretical and practical knowledge boundaries of urban and regional planning in Iran strategic spatial planning, collaborative planning, cooperative planning, review, and evaluation of urban and regional development documents, etc. Housing planning, transportation planning, tourism planning, urban and regional economic planning, environmental planning, rural planning, urban and regional resilience, metropolitan planning, planning of areas with spatial loss, planning areas of historical value, planning for informal settlements, etc. Quantitative methods and modeling in urban and regional planning, qualitative methods in urban and regional planning, research methods in urban and regional planning, methods of teaching urban and regional planning, etc.
