Aims & Scope

The journal accepts articles in Russian and English presenting new scientific results or reviews in the fields of genetics and breeding, as well as in related sections of science. The main directions of published works include: general and molecular genetics, genetics and breeding of plants, animals and microorganisms, human genetics and medical genetics, paleogenetics, symbiogenetics and evolutionary genetics, population genetics, genetics and cell biology of developmental processes, systems biology and bioinformatics, synthetic biology, genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics, genetic basis of biotechnology, gene and chromosome engineering. Results of original theoretical and experimental research, carried out at a good methodological level, are accepted for publication; review articles on current topics. Separate thematic issues are dedicated to the most pressing issues of genetics and breeding, as well as the results of interdisciplinary research, in which modern methods and approaches of genetics are applied to solve problems in the fields of biotechnology, biomedicine, pharmacology, biosafety, and nanobiotechnology.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
