About the Journal The Journal of the University of Latvia. History (“Latvijas Universitātes Žurnāls. Vēsture”) is an open-access double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal, which is issued twice a year by the University of Latvia . The aim of the Journal of the University of Latvia. History is to promote professional and high-quality research of the past and create a dialogue between researchers, thereby broadening the general understanding of historical processes and events. The journal gives priority to publishing original research related to Latvian and world history and archaeology, as well as to auxiliary disciplines of history and interdisciplinary research concerning history (from prehistory to the present day). The journal also publishes select historical sources with scientific commentaries and reviews of the latest scientific literature in the field of history. The Journal of the University of Latvia. History has been published since 2016, twice a year. Until 2016, the journal was published under the title "History of Latvia. Modern and Contemporary Period". The Journal of the University of Latvia. History is indexed in SCOPUS (since 2023) and in EBSCO database Central & Eastern European Academic Source (since 2016). ISSN 2500-9621 (print) ISSN 2592-9593 (online) Each volume and each article since 2017 have a DOI number. The DOI of the Journal of the University of Latvia. History is https://doi.org/10.22364/luzv In order to prevent malpractice, all submissions are screened by the TurnitIn™ software. Articles in the Journal of the University of Latvia. History are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 ( CC BY-NC 4.0 ) license since 2023. All journal volumes are available on the E-resource repository of the University of Latvia.
