Aims & Scope

Edukacja Muzyczna is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to the issues of music, musical culture, and music education, publishing original research results from the field of art sciences and musical arts. The journal's mission is to disseminate knowledge and support the development of scientific research concerning various aspects of music from historical, theoretical, aesthetic, cultural, performance, and pedagogical perspectives. The journal serves as a forum for the exchange of scientific thought for researchers representing various areas of musicology and related disciplines. Published articles address issues from the field of music history, music theory and analysis, source studies, early music, ethnomusicology, philosophy and aesthetics of music, musical performance, composition, conducting, vocalism, music perception, musical culture, and music pedagogy and music didactics. A special place in the journal is occupied by research devoted to the musical heritage of Central and Eastern Europe, the work of composers and performers, musical sources, changes in musical culture, and issues related to music education at various levels of learning. The journal publishes both studies of a historical and theoretical nature, as well as works addressing contemporary research problems related to music and its functioning in culture. Authors of published works represent numerous national and foreign scientific, artistic, and educational centers. Researchers from Poland and other European and Asian countries publish in the journal, which promotes the internationalization of scientific debate and the exchange of research experience. The editorial office is open to both recognized scientists and young researchers beginning their academic careers.
