Aims & Scope

Evangelikal: Jurnal Teologi Injili dan Pembinaan Warga Jemaat (Evangelical: Journal of Evangelical Theology and Church Community Education) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and accredited online journal in Indonesia. Only original research is considered for publication. This periodical journal is managed by Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Simpson Ungaran (Simpson Ungaran Theological College), Indonesia, and publishes articles in English. The journal seeks to create a publication space in the field of evangelical theology and community development that discusses theology and various disciplines from a contextual perspective. It encourages research that challenges traditional discourses within and between the fields of biblical, religious, social, and human sciences as well as constructive engagement with other sciences. Thus, Evangelikal is an instrument of interaction between theological disciplines, on the one hand, and theology and other disciplines, on the other. The journal intends to publish research from academics, and professionals in the field of evangelical theology and community development. The Editorial Board of Evangelikal highly encourages contributions from various countries and young academics, as well as from minority groups. The development of theological research that is sourced from the biblical text to the current context and sees the current context from the perspective of the biblical text. This has implications for the methodology and the likelihood that the “text” from this context can be used. Only publications of the highest academic quality will be considered for publication. Submissions that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered for publication. These criteria must be reflected in the abstract of the submission to be considered for publication. Aims - Evangelikal is a scholarly journal that focuses on evangelical theology and congregational formation. It publishes articles based on empirical studies and biblical texts, as well as theological studies using quantitative or qualitative approaches or a combination of both. Scope - Evangelikal requires scholarly articles on evangelical theology and congregational formation. It covers issues at various levels of analysis (personal, group, and community research) and methods (biblical hermeneutics, theological research, and other social research methods). In addition, it provides opportunities for the publication of articles based on inter/multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research, even prioritizing or providing special space for it.
