Aims & Scope
Since its inception in 1983, The Journal of Acupuncture Research (JAR) has consistently published experimental and theoretical articles that significantly contribute to the comprehension of acupuncture. These articles encompass clinical studies that explore the connection between acupuncture-related interventions and conventional Western therapies. Additionally, they aim to establish optimal protocols for treating and managing various conditions, including lumbar and pelvic sprains, chronic low back pain (cLBP), degenerative joint disease (DJD), cerebrovascular accident (CVA) sequelae, and Bell's palsy. Furthermore, these studies strive to reinforce scientific evidence supporting the safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of acupuncture-related interventions. A substantial body of research on acupuncture has been conducted over time. We welcome submissions that consider this historical empirical evidence, incorporate a comprehensive evidence-based approach to acupuncture, and are pertinent and valuable to those engaged in the practice, research, and instruction of acupuncture-based treatments in healthcare. JAR considers to publish editorials, original articles, review articles, short communications, case reports, and letters to the editor on: Acupuncture (electroacupuncture, laser acupuncture, acupotomy, embedding therapy, acupuncture needling, the development of new acupuncture techniques, exploration of new acupoints) moxibustion cupping pharmacopuncture(herbal acupuncture, acupoint injection, aqua-acupuncture) the meridian system and other meridian-related studies (meridian diagnosis, acupressure, chuna/tuina, herbal medicine)
