Art Style
Art Style Comunicação & Edições (Communication & Editions) · Brazil · Est. 2018
Aims & Scope
In addition to considering the medium, form, and context through which art acquires its characteristics, Art Style Magazine emphasizes the socio-cultural, political, and historical forces that shape artistic expression. The diverse values of cultures are reflected through their artistic forms. The magazine examines the significance of art and aesthetic experience in relation to perception and imagination. This process may be understood through experiences of art, music, media, design, architecture, and other creative works and events that contribute to knowledge and critical reflection on the effects of the arts on individuals and their environments. Accordingly, Art Style Magazine explores the multiple meanings of art and the dynamics of its communication in order to engage with the historical consciousness of modern Western culture in its contemporary context, while promoting social inclusion, sustainable development, and decoloniality. The magazine therefore focuses not only on art itself and its description, but also on its reciprocal relationship with culture. Artistic, cultural, and political interdependence must be understood globally as a significant process in contemporary urban life, particularly in relation to collaborative actors and the articulation of democratic ideals, image cultures, identities, and world heritage. Art Style Magazine regards art as a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries, taking many forms and being expressed through diverse media in both Western and non-Western cultures. The magazine seeks to discuss creative developments that address local and global challenges of social responsibility through the arts, as well as the ways in which the arts reflect cultural change and the spirit of the time. Art Style Magazine serves as a platform for essential fields of analysis in the social sciences, arts, and humanities. It encompasses a broad range of disciplines, including art history, art education, aesthetics, communication studies, design, architecture, music, sound studies, and image science. This interdisciplinary approach enables the magazine to examine creative and communicative practices that seek to respond to society’s aspirations through art.
