National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy · Ukraine · Est. 2017
Aims & Scope
The journal «Мова: класичне - модерне - постмодерне» is a platform for publishing research on language phenomena that have arisen under the influence of extralinguistic factors, particularly as a result of social changes in Ukraine, in other countries of Eastern Europe, and in related regions. The journal's aim is to integrate the efforts of scholars in various fields of linguistics (sociolinguistics, postcolonial linguistics, lexicology and grammar of natural languages, semantics, pragmatics, discourse studies, corpus linguistics, and others) to illuminate the past and present state of languages, and the causes and consequences of language changes. The uniqueness of the publication lies in its particular focus on studies that examine the Ukrainian language from a postcolonial perspective. The publication presents linguists, as well as representatives of other sciences, with materials on language changes in Ukraine in particular and the Eastern European region in general, which has undergone numerous social transformations over the past few centuries and has been and continues to be at the center of local and global political and military processes.
