Aims & Scope
Simulacra is an international peer-reviewed sociology journal that publishes original research and theoretical works on contemporary social transformations, particularly those related to identity, power, representation, and mediated social life. The journal focuses on how social realities, cultural meanings, and everyday practices are shaped, negotiated, and contested within changing technological, political, and sociocultural contexts. Simulacra welcomes critical sociological perspectives on digital society, media culture, globalization, religion, politics, inequality, and everyday life, especially in relation to emerging forms of social relations and cultural transformation. The journal encourages interdisciplinary and theory-informed approaches, particularly those engaging with contemporary social theory, critical sociology, cultural studies, and Global South perspectives. Qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and theoretical contributions are welcome.
