Aims & Scope

The Journal of Economics and Development is a diamond open access journal published in partnership with an organisation. Authors are not required to pay an article processing charge (APC). The journal publishes articles on economics and development. It encourages transparent research practices and supports the reproducibility of research through the adoption of transparent research practices. Authors are encouraged to cite and fully reference all data, program code, and other methods in their article, and include persistent identifiers such as a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) in references for datasets and program codes. The journal follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and has its own research and publishing ethics guidelines. Submissions must be original and not published elsewhere or under consideration by any other publication. Conflicts of interest must be declared. The journal uses Crossref Similarity Check to check originality. Research involving human participants requires ethical approval and informed consent, with details provided in an ethical statement. Third-party copyright permissions must be obtained prior to submission. The journal is a signatory of the Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines.
