Aims & Scope

Aims and scopes Protection of cultural heritage (Ochrona Dziedzictwa Kulturowego ) is an international, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the protection, conservation, and management of cultural heritage. The journal welcomes original research articles, technical studies, and review papers that contribute to the understanding and safeguarding of cultural heritage in its various forms. The main goal of the journal is to promote and disseminate knowledge on cultural heritage protection, conservation methodologies, and legal frameworks. Our aim is to provide a high-quality platform for researchers, conservation practitioners, and policymakers to share their findings and insights in this critical field. The journal covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to: conservation and restoration of historical buildings and monuments, preservation of intangible cultural heritage, archaeology and cultural heritage studies, heritage site management and tourism, digital technologies in cultural heritage documentation and preservation, legal and ethical aspects of cultural heritage protection, preventive conservation and risk management, traditional crafts and materials in conservation, urban heritage and historical urban landscapes, museum studies and collection management, cultural heritage education and awareness, impact of climate change on cultural heritage. Peer Review Statement All manuscript submissions undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor. If deemed suitable for further consideration, they are subjected to a double-blind peer review by at least two independent, anonymous expert reviewers. At least one of the reviewers is affiliated with an institution outside of Poland. Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s "Submission" platform, which operates on Open Journal System (OJS) 3.x. Authors publish under the Gold Open Access model, with all articles licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
