Aims & Scope

The aim of the journal is to promote the development of veterinary science through the publication of the results of fundamental and applied research focused on the preservation, restoration, and improvement of animal health, as well as on enhancing the effectiveness of veterinary practice. Starting from Vol. 15, No. 2 (2024), the journal has narrowed its thematic focus. The scope of interest includes the following areas: Diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of animal diseases: research into modern methods of clinical, laboratory, and instrumental diagnosis of animal diseases of various aetiologies. Particular attention is paid to the development and improvement of preventive measures, vaccination programmes, therapeutic and surgical treatment methods, as well as to the evaluation of their effectiveness and safety. Microbiological aspects of veterinary medicine: study of the role of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites in the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases in animals. Research into pathogenesis, mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, and the development of new methods for the control, prevention, and treatment of infections. Immunological aspects of veterinary medicine: investigation of the functioning of the animal immune system under normal and pathological conditions. Analysis of immune responses to infectious agents, vaccines, and medicinal products, as well as the development of immunoprophylactic and immunotherapeutic approaches. Genetic aspects of veterinary medicine: study of hereditary diseases, genetic variability, and molecular genetic mechanisms underlying the development of pathologies and productive traits in animals. Research into the application of genetic and genomic technologies in breeding, diagnosis, and disease prevention. Behavioural aspects of animals: analysis of animal behaviour under normal and stressful conditions, including the impact of the environment, housing systems, and human–animal interactions on physiological and psycho-emotional states. Research into behavioural disorders and the development of methods for their correction, taking into account animal welfare principles. Maintenance of animal health and hygiene: development and evaluation of measures aimed at ensuring appropriate sanitary and hygienic conditions for animal housing, disease prevention, and the improvement of animal welfare in farms, veterinary clinics, and private holdings. Control of nutrition and housing conditions: research into the principles of rational feeding, assessment of feed quality, and the impact of nutrition on animal health, immune status, and productivity. Analysis of housing systems and their influence on physiological condition and disease incidence.
