Aims & Scope
Archives of Pediatric Neurosurgery is a tri-annual open-access peer-reviewed medical online journal established in 2019 as the official publication of the Brazilian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. Our aim is to directly improve pediatric neurosurgery health research by increasing clinical understanding through case reports and clinical academic research, which are the journal’s main scope. APN accepts the following types of scholarly academic-scientific contributions: Review articles; Original articles; Clinical case reports; Technical notes; Clinical images and videos. All these contributions are peer-reviewed by at least two ad-hoc reviewers. APN also accepts other contributions, such as Letter to the Editor and Historical Vignettes, Obituaries, which are not peer-reviews. We welcome the scholarly contributions described above from all areas in Pediatric Neurosurgery, especially: Any clinical case or procedure which illustrates an important best practice teaching message; Any clinical case or procedure which illustrates the appropriate use of an important clinical guideline or systematic review. As well as academic-scientific papers analyzing: The management of novel or very uncommon diseases A common disease presenting in an uncommon way An uncommon disease masquerading as something more common Cases which expand understanding of disease pathogenesis Cases where the teaching point is based on an error Cases which allow us to re-think established medical lore Unreported adverse effects of interventions (drug, procedural, or other).
