(an)ecdótica
Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México · Mexico · Est. 2017
Aims & Scope
(an)ecdótica is a journal edited by the Seminario de Edición Crítica de Textos del Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas de la UNAM, which is published in semiannual issues appearing in January and July of each year. The journal has a print edition and a digital version of complete open access. In correspondence with its subject of study, (an)ecdótica is published in Spanish and is aimed at the international academic community interested in critical editing and the history of ideas. The journal showcases the ecdotic work of Ibero-American texts from the 16th to the 21st centuries. In particular, it aims to encourage the critical editing of colonial, 19th-century, and contemporary materials from Latin America; since Spain already has a more accurate awareness of the need to rescue documents belonging to its classical tradition in precise and reliable editions. The New Continent, on the other hand, has not yet acquired full certainty of the imminence that this systematic task of rescuing and fixing texts represents. An arduous, patient, professional labor that will contribute to strengthening the cultural past of Latin America. (an)ecdótica joins this critical work by publishing unpublished and valuable works in this field of study. The research lines of our journal are: critical editing, text and author rescue, history of literature and history of ideas, annotated editing, and materiality.
