Aims & Scope

AL MA'ARIEF: Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial dan Budaya focuses on advancing knowledge and practices in the field of social studies education and social and cultural education. The journal aims to foster interdisciplinary research and academic discussions that promote social awareness, civic responsibility, cultural understanding, and educational innovation in both formal and non-formal learning contexts. The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and case studies related to (but not limited to) the following areas: Local Values – Exploration of indigenous knowledge, local wisdom, traditions, and cultural heritage in relation to social and cultural education. Social Empowerment – Studies on community engagement, participatory education, and initiatives aimed at building social resilience and agency. Social Phenomena – Critical analysis of contemporary social issues, transformations, and their educational implications. Social Studies in Schools and Higher Education – Curriculum development, teaching strategies, assessment models, and policy perspectives related to social studies education at various educational levels. The journal invites submissions that integrate interdisciplinary and culturally responsive approaches, enriching academic discourse and practical applications in the fields of social and cultural education.
