Aims & Scope
The Journal of Cancer Rehabilitation (JCR) is an international peer-reviewed, quarterly journal dedicated to publishing high quality research and other information that is relevant to advancing oncology care. There has been consistent progress in extending survival for those diagnosed with cancer, and as such, quality of life has become an increasingly important part of oncology care. The need for evidence-based interdisciplinary cancer rehabilitation utilizing multimodal interventions and approaches has never been greater. More on the JCR aim and scope JCR welcomes the submission of original, previously unpublished articles which describe various aspects of clinical and/or translational research, in the field of cancer rehabilitation. Submissions may be focused on monodisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary approaches. Conventional rehabilitation interventions as well as novel therapies are encouraged. Topics may include, but are not limited to, neurologic, musculoskeletal, cognitive, speech/swallowing, bowel/bladder, sexuality, and psychological sequelae in active cancer patients and long-term survivors. Submissions related to partners and caregivers are also encouraged. Studies on integrative therapies, often called complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), such as acupuncture, massage, yoga, and others will also be considered. The journal also focuses on functional outcomes such as mobility as well as school, work and community participation. The JCR provides a variety of types of submission styles (e.g., editorials, letters to the Editor, case reports, original papers, reviews, policy rehabilitation plans, clinical guidelines, comments and controversies). All content in the journal is aimed at identifying evidence-based interventions that will enhance patient outcomes and health-related quality of life. The journal also seeks to support the adoption and integration of science into clinical practice and report on important health policy issues as they relate to cancer rehabilitation. Proposals for special issues are also welcomed.
