Aims & Scope

The journal targets the archaeologists, anthropologists, historians and other scholars, working in history-related disciplines. It is intended to serve as a platform for publication and critical debate in the field of archaeology, with a particular focus on the archaeology of Northern Eurasia and Ural-Volga region as its part, located on the border between Europe and Asia, the nomadic steppe and the “settled” world. The journal publishes research articles in a wide range of fields, including not only archaeology, but also ethnography, historical geography and other auxiliary sciences of history (Ancient and Medieval history, anthropology, numismatics etc.) as well as interdisciplinary works describing valuable results of studies, which apply methods of natural sciences in historical and archaeological research.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
