About the Journal Aims & Scope The International Journal of Equine Science (IJES) is a gold open-access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish research papers, review articles, clinical studies, case reports, case studies, and short communications that advance knowledge and practice in equine health, performance, and welfare. IJES publishes studies directly involving equines as well as research on humans whose activities are closely related to equine science and practice, including equestrian athletes, riders, trainers, handlers, veterinarians, and other professionals. We welcome submissions in the following areas: Anatomy and Physiology of Horses Equine Nutrition and Feeding Equine Genetics and Breeding Equine Health and Disease Management Equine Reproduction and Stud Management Equine Behavior and Training Equine Exercise Physiology Equine Reproductive Physiology Equine Biomechanics Equine Business Management Equine Welfare and Ethics Equine Facility Management Equine Psychology Equine Rehabilitation Equine Dentistry Equine Hoof Care and Podiatry Equine Veterinary Medicine Equine Genetics and Genomics Human–Equine Interaction and Equestrian Performance IJES follows a semiannual publication schedule, releasing two regular issues per year. The first issue is typically finalized in June, and the second in December. To ensure the rapid dissemination of research, the journal utilizes a Continuous Publication model, where articles are published online as soon as they are ready. These are subsequently assigned to the current scheduled volume and issue. Since its inception in 2022, the journal has maintained a consistent publication record, supplemented by occasional peer-reviewed Special Issues.
