Aims & Scope

Historia i Świat is an annual journal published by the Institute of History of the University of Siedlce. The journal was founded in 2012 on the initiative of a group of employees of the Institute of History. The volumes are divided into two main parts: Acta Militaria Iranica and Acta Historica. The first part is devoted to research in the field of warfare in antiquity and the history of the Middle East. The second part is devoted to universal history (geographically Central-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Eurasia). The journal is interdisciplinary in nature, integrating in particular historians, art historians, archaeologists and ethnologists interested in the history of civilizations. It publishes articles, source publications, reviews, polemics and other forms of scientific expression concerning universal history and the history of Poland from antiquity to the present day. The editorial office welcomes submissions from all fields of historical and cultural research and aims to stimulate social debate. The journal is international in nature. From issue 14/2025, the journal will publish exclusively in English. Earlier issues accepted works written in Polish, English, German, Russian and Persian.
