Aims & Scope
Česká literaturais a peer-reviewed specialist journal that has been published since 1953 by the Institute of Czech Literature at the Czech Academy of Sciences. It focuses on research into history, poetics, the contexts and functions of Czech literature and the issues surrounding Czech and world literary theory. The aim of the journal is to present methodology-based contributions that broaden our knowledge along with research input on Czech literary studies both at home and abroad and other related humanities disciplines, as well as to monitor the current literary studies context. The journal publishes original and translated texts (in Czech, Slovak, occasionally also in English), as well as reviewed scholarly studies, discussion papers, translation methodology essays, reviews and informative texts on current developments in the field. The journal is published six times a year. Since 2021, the journal has been published in open- access mode. All the articles are openly accessible viathe Czech Academy of Sciences Digital Library. At the same time, journal content from 2005 to the recent past is included in the full-text CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library) database, where it is available free of charge. Articles are published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license by default, but authors may also choose the CC BY 4.0 option. The journal is a member of the Crossref registration agency and assigns DOI identifiers to reviewed articles. The journal does not require any fees from authors for editing and publishing their articles. At weekly intervals theČeská literatura v síti(Czech Literature Online) blog presents reviews, reports, notes and comments that follow current affairs and as a rule have appeared on the pages ofČeská literaturaor are associated with, supplement or comment upon its contents.
