Aims & Scope
TheReview of Literary History and Theoryis an academic journal specialized in literary criticism, literary history and theory. It is edited by The Institute for Literary History and Theory “G. Calinescu” of The Romanian Academy and is released annually online and in print by the Romanian Academy’s Publishing House. The journal publishes articles on the relationship between Romanian literature and world literatures and on local and global aspects in literature and culture, archival materials and original documents, overviews in literary history or historical case studies, short monographies or analysis of relevant authors and up-to-date theoretical debates. The journal aims to offer a platform for the crossroads of literatures, of tradition and innovation in literary studies and promotes Romanian literature and its specific values, but also the dialogue with other literatures, with their own various values. In a context of rapid change and transformation, the journal is determined to contribute to the reshaping of Romanian literary studies and to a better understanding of contemporary world literature by offering a space of discussion and connection for Romanian and global topics of research and debate. In 2007 it appears in a new series, with Eugen Simion as director and Lucian Chișu as editor-in-chief. Except for the decade 1997-2007, when the journal ceased publication, it was released annually or quarterly. RITLis a fullopenaccessjournal.
