Genetica
Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH · Germany
Aims & Scope
Genetica publishes original research and reviews involving classical and modern genetics, with a strong emphasis on evolutionary genetics, population genetics, and genomics across a wide diversity of organisms, including plants, animals, and microorganisms. The journal particularly welcomes studies addressing molecular evolution, phylogenomics, genetic diversity and structure of natural populations, gene family evolution, comparative and functional genomics, and the genetic basis of adaptation to environmental and ecological pressures. Contributions employing genome-wide approaches, bioinformatics, transcriptomics, and integrative computational methods are encouraged, especially when they provide insights into evolutionary processes, speciation, domestication, conservation, and genome organization. Genetica does not consider submissions centered on biomedical, clinical, or human disease-oriented research. Papers on breeding animal and plant genetics are not within the scope of Genetica unless framed in an evolutionary context.
