Compania de Jesus, Centro Loyola de Estudios y Comunicacion Social · Spain · Est. 1945
Aims & Scope
Pensamiento is a scientific and research journal, within the general methodology of philosophical studies, the specific methodology of its different subdisciplines, as well as that of other related disciplines in interdisciplinary connection with philosophy, such as natural and human sciences. The criterion for publication is clear: scientific seriousness and methodological rigor in research. This applies to university-level articles that deal, without restriction, with the classic themes of philosophy and also with the new issues and challenges facing philosophical thought today. Thus: history of philosophy in all its stages, currents and cultural traditions, study of the great philosophers; logic and theory of argumentation, theory of knowledge, epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of nature, first philosophy, ontology, metaphysics, theodicy, philosophy of religion, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of mind, ethics and moral philosophy, political philosophy, aesthetics and theory of the arts, philosophy of culture, philosophy of history, philosophy of law, philosophy of economics, of communication, etc. Essayistic and creative contributions are also welcome in Pensamiento, but always provided they meet the criteria of scientific and university quality that characterize its own style. The editorial profile of Pensamiento is open without ideological restrictions and aims to be another editorial medium, alongside many others existing in Spain, that promotes a rigorous exposition of ideas that enriches philosophical-scientific dialogue and opinion: it therefore publishes all types of scientific and philosophical opinions and positions, as well as lines of interpretation of history and authors. The only editorial requirement is scientific seriousness, rigor of analyses and arguments, as well as respect and human quality of style. Although current events are not a determining criterion for a journal like Pensamiento, its editorial policy will tend to ensure that the major intellectual and philosophical issues raised in our historical moment can be followed through its pages.
