Aims & Scope
1.Varia Historiaadopts the licenseCC-BY as main attribution of Open Access. Authors are not requested to pay any submission fees for articles or its evaluations, which are made using the double blinded system. 2.Varia Historiaonly publishes original manuscripts. Our expectation is to receive texts which don’t have substantial similarities with others already published by the proponent, either in printed of electronic format. It is also important that the article is not submitted to any other editorial process. In the case of unpublished dissertations and thesis, rewriting is expected so that the text is not considered self-plagiarism. After the publication inVaria Historia, the texts may be reissued with our authorization, under the condition that they contain a note with the credits of the original publication. 3. Before submitting, we recommend reading ourCode of Ethicsand ourCode of Authorshipwhen applicable. 4.Varia Historiapublishes open-topic articles, issue-specific topics in dossiers which are selected through public calls, interviews and book reviews. The dossiers have authors of excellence and who are references in their areas, however, as with open-topic articles, each original text submitted will be forwarded to at least two anonymous reviewers. The Editor in Chief and the Editorial Board will decide on the adequacy of each submitted text, and on the beginning, or not, of its editorial process, as well as on the final acceptance of the article. The book reviews will be evaluated by the Book Review Editor and by the Editor in Chief, and the interviews by the Editor in Chief. 5. The title of doctor is demanded for all the authors who sign the articles, whereas for book reviews a Master’s title is requested. The journal does not publish texts of members of the Post-Graduate History Program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), or of professors of the History course at the same institution.
