Informatik Spektrum befasst sich mit allen Aspekten der Informatik und deren Anwendung. Die Zeitschrift bietet aktuelle und praxisbezogene Informationen. Enthält Übersichtsartikel, Einführungen, Projektberichte und Fallstudien, die künftige Trends aufzeigen. Sie zielt auf Leser, die sich in neue Gebiete der Informatik einarbeiten, sich weiterbilden oder einen Überblick verschaffen möchten. Zielgruppe sind damit auch Praktiker und Studenten Strebt an, dass möglichst jeder Beitrag für möglichst alle Leser verständlich und lesenswert ist. Die Zeitschrift orientiert sich an den Problemen der Praxis, ohne die Aufgabe zu vergessen, ein solides wissenschaftliches Fundament zu erarbeiten.
