Aims & Scope

Folia Philosophica. Ethica – Aesthetica – Practica is a scientific journal dedicated to the issues of practical philosophy, philosophy of culture, and axiology in a broad sense. It is intended to serve in-depth philosophical reflection on the problems of contemporary social life and the shape of public space. We publish texts concerning research on the ethical, aesthetic, as well as legal and political aspects of contemporary social and cultural practices. We are also interested in works dealing with issues of practical philosophy and aesthetics from a historical perspective, as well as strictly philosophical-theoretical ones. We invite Polish and foreign authors associated with philosophy, as well as representatives of other disciplines, including practitioners active in their work in the public sphere, to cooperate. We want the journal's pages to confront perspectives from which representatives of various fields of knowledge – i.e. philosophy, aesthetics, ethics, political science, legal sciences, as well as economics, medicine, or religious studies, cultural studies, art history, and urban planning – view the same or similar issues. We also care about theorists and practitioners who have to deal with these issues in their specific activities in the public-social sphere looking at the same issues. Individual issues of Folia Philosophica. Ethica – Aesthetica – Practica are thematically profiled and dedicated to issues from specific areas, such as ethics and aesthetics primarily, but also bioethics, philosophy of law, or political science. In addition to scientific articles, polemical articles, reviews of discussions conducted in foreign philosophical press, comments and reviews of scientific works will be published.
