Aims & Scope
The journal aims to explore significant issues in all branches of theology and other church sciences in the context of contemporary challenges; to promote dialogue between theology and other fields of knowledge, thus promoting theology that is both open to contemporary problems and based on a deep knowledge of sources – Revelation and Tradition; to popularize the results of foreign theological research in Poland and to integrate domestic theological reflection into the global, especially Central European, discourse; to study the biblical, patristic, and liturgical sources of theology. The thematic scope of articles published in "Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne" covers all branches of theology, starting from dogmatics, through fundamental, moral, and pastoral theology, biblical studies, patristics, liturgics, and catechetics. Articles also appear in the field of other church sciences, such as canon law, Catholic social teaching, Church history, philosophy, or ethics, as well as auxiliary sciences of theology, including Christian art history, sociology of religion, or religious studies. Although "Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne" primarily focuses on Catholic theology, it is open to publications from researchers belonging to other Churches and Christian communities, in the spirit of ecumenical dialogue. The journal is interested in countries where Christian thought is developing, both within the tradition of Western and Eastern Christianity. Authors can be scientists from Poland and abroad dealing with theology, biblical studies, canon law, Christian social teaching, Church history, philosophy, ethics, Christian art history, sociology of religion, and religious studies. The journal publishes the results of original scientific research, review articles, polemical works, source studies, and reviews of important and current theological publications. The journal publishes articles in Polish, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
