Geschichte und Gesellschaft — Zeitschrift für Historische Sozialwissenschaft — »Geschichte und Gesellschaft« (GG) ist eine Zeitschrift für den gesamten Bereich der historisch-sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschung und erscheint vierteljährlich. Sie wendet sich an Lehrende an Hochschulen und Schulen, Studierende und Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Disziplinen Geschichte und Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft und Kulturwissenschaften, die sich für Fragestellungen, Ergebnisse und für neue Entwicklungen der historischen Forschung interessieren. Gegenstand der Zeitschrift ist die Gesellschaft und ihre Geschichte – Gesellschaftsgeschichte, verstanden als die Geschichte sozialer, politischer, ökonomischer und kultureller Phänomene, die in bestimmten gesellschaftlichen Formationen verankert sind. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Darstellung und Analyse des gesellschaftlichen Wandels.
