Criada em 1983, a Ler História é uma revista académica portuguesa na área científica da História, dedicada principalmente à história de Portugal, do império português e dos países lusófonos, nas épocas moderna e contemporânea. A Ler História inclui também no seu campo de interesses outras cronologias e geografias, como a história ibérica e ibero-americana, a história de África e a história da Ásia, entre outras, sendo particularmente receptiva às abordagens de história comparada, transnacional ou global. A revista dedica, desde sempre, uma especial atenção às questões de natureza historiográfica, incluindo a reflexão teórica e metodológica.
