Aims & Scope
Asy-Syir‘ah: Jurnal Ilmu Syari’ah dan Hukum is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fostering critical and scholarly discourse on Sharia as a living legal tradition within evolving legal systems and socio-legal contexts. The journal aims to contribute to the development of Islamic legal thought by exploring how Sharia interacts with both classical and contemporary legal frameworks. Contributions are expected to examine how Sharia norms are interpreted, negotiated, and implemented within plural legal systems. The journal welcomes original and critical research articles that employ comparative, socio-legal, and empirical approaches to the study of Sharia. Topics of interest encompass, but are not limited to, the following areas: The development and transformation of Islamic legal thought. Sharia and legal pluralism in contemporary societies. Sharia and transnational legal contexts encompass cross-border legal interactions. Sharia, governance, and legal regulation in socio-political contexts. Family law, economic law, criminal law, and environmental law serve as domains for Sharia-based legal reasoning. Digital technology, cyber law, and emerging legal issues in Sharia studies.
