About the Journal Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (RMCG) is a quarterly , peer reviewed , online journal that publishes original research papers, review papers, short notes, Comments and Responses and Editorials dealing with any discipline of the Earth Sciences, and with emphasis on studies from Ibero-America. The complete RMCG collection is available online in full text for reading and downloading. Papers are published in diamond open access and are thus free of charge for readers and authors (APC free). Authors retain the copyright to their work and grant the journal the non-exclusive right of first publication of their paper under a Creative Commons CC-BY licence . Manuscripts are submitted through the OJS journal management system . Before submission, please check the guidelines for authors and the editorial policies. FOCUS AND SCOPE Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (RMCG) targets both the international scientific community and professionals and students in the Earth Sciences. It publishes original research papers on Earth processes of broad interest, and particularly those dealing with regions of Latin America. The RMCG also publishes review papers on topics of current interest, and on the geology and tectonics of geological provinces of Latin America. Besides, it offers the opportunity for host editors to publish special thematic issues . Papers suitable for the RMCG are those that: (1) report high-quality data, (2) thoroughly discuss the implications of the results in the light of recent and relevant scientific literature, and (3) are of broad interest or have an impact on other disciplines. Of particular interest are contributions related to tectonics, structural geology, sedimentary geology, stratigraphy, volcanology, geochemistry, geophysics, hydrogeology, paleoclimatology, environmental sciences, paleontology, geomorphology, geological engineering, or geotechnics.
