Aims & Scope

The Revista Complutense de Educación prioritizes contributions that address relevant and current problems from rigorous approaches with international projection. Manuscripts are invited in the following areas: Evidence-based education and improvement of teaching and learning; Artificial intelligence and digital transformation in education; Teacher training and professional development of teachers; Equity, inclusion and diversity in educational contexts; Instructional design and evaluation of educational interventions; Educational policy and education system reforms. Empirical evidence (quantitative, qualitative or mixed) will be especially valued, including rigorous and well-justified designs, clear implications for educational practice or policy, and systematic or critical reviews with explicit methodology. Works that are merely descriptive or local without connection to international debates, based solely on perceptions without a solid analytical framework, or literature reviews without systematic or explicit methodology will not be prioritized. Works that do not comply with the editorial policy, whose theoretical basis is not sufficiently consistent, that use weak methodologies and poor data analysis, that do not conclude consistently with the proposed objectives, or in which small and non-generalizable samples are used (subjects from a class, a school, etc.) will not be published. Opinion pieces or summaries of academic work will also not be published.
