Aims & Scope
The Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University publishes only original research articles and review papers; translation studies and book reviews are excluded from its scope. Among the primary acceptance criteria is that submitted works comply with the principles of scientific ethics and contribute to the literature from a theoretical and/or applied perspective. A very limited number of articles derived from postgraduate theses are accepted. Such submissions are expected to offer original and innovative scientific contributions and to be in accordance with the journal’s scope and publication policies. In this regard, only studies of high academic quality that have been substantially developed from theses into original research articles will be considered. Within this limitation, the editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts derived from postgraduate theses. The scope of the journal encompasses a wide range of disciplines within the social sciences, including the following fields: Language, Communication, and Culture: Language studies, linguistics, world languages, literature and cultural studies, literary studies, cultural studies, advertising, Turkish language and literature, Turkish folklore, contemporary Turkish dialects and literatures, as well as communication and media studies. Religious Studies: Religion, society, and cultural relations, as well as Islamic studies. Economics: Econometrics, economic theory, macroeconomics and microeconomics, international economics, and applied economics. Philosophy: History of philosophy, systematic philosophy, and applied philosophy. Law and Legal Studies: Public law, private law, commercial law, international and comparative law, legal systems, and environmental and natural resources law. Psychology: Developmental psychology, social and personality psychology, and applied psychology. Arts and Literature: Traditional Turkish arts, art history, art theory and criticism, cinema, and Turkish-Islamic arts. Social and Human Sciences: Anthropology, human geography, demography, development studies, criminology, political science, public administration, social services, social policy, sociology, and international relations. History, Heritage, and Archaeology: Archaeology; historical studies from antiquity to the contemporary period; general Turkish history; Ottoman institutions and civilization; political history; economic history; as well as cultural heritage, archival, and museum studies. Commerce, Management, Tourism, and Services: Banking and insurance, finance and investment, public finance, accounting and auditing, marketing, management and organizational behavior, tourism, logistics and supply chain management, international trade, as well as human resources and industrial relations. The Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University is open to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies and encourages theoretical and methodological interaction across different fields. In this respect, the journal aims to contribute to the accumulation of academic knowledge by publishing up-to-date, original, and high-quality research in the field of social sciences and to become a reputable scientific platform at both national and international levels.
