Aims & Scope
The Scientific Journal MASKANA was established with the aim of offering academic staff a platform for the publication of their research and dissemination of results in the various areas of knowledge. MASKANA, a Quechua word meaning 'search', is the scientific journal managed by the "Vicerrectorado de Investigación" of the University of Cuenca. Its first issue was published in the second semester of 2010 and has two editions per year. The journal is indexed in Latindex Catalog 2.0, and accepts original articles, both in Spanish and in English, in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, Biological and Health Sciences, and Exact Sciences and Technologies. Prior to publication, articles are subject to external peer review, which aims to improve the quality of publications. MASKANA magazine handles manuscripts of both national and foreign researchers, in English or Spanish, the only condition is that they are original research articles or articles of literature reviews based on critical assessments of current knowledge of a subject of interest. Publishing in MASKANA is cost-free for authors. Through MASKANA, the publication of research results is allowed, but, at the same time, it also offers an improvement in the skills and confidence to communicate future results in specific scientific journals in each area of knowledge and with greater relevance in each one of them. the scientific disciplines. The publication of articles in quality journals is a tool to improve and validate the quality of the results of a research project. MASKANA aims to be the first step for researchers in this way. MASKANA is aimed at professors, researchers, students and professionals interested in the permanent updating of their knowledge and the follow-up of research processes.
